2. Terms of Service
2.1
By activating your user ID, you agree to abide by these Terms of Service and General Rules of Conduct in using all features of the Atimonan Online website, including message boards and the private message system. No posting of material of vulgar, obscene, overly-violent, lewd or bigoted nature, or those which promote illegal activities, or other material inappropriate for general readership, whether as part of a thread, signature or avatar. We mean it.
Images posted in the forum should be no longer 640x480 (landscape) / 480x640 (portrait).
2.6
No derogatory comments against other posters, including slurs based on race, religion, gender, sexual preference, or political affiliation. No personal threats or harassment.
2.7
No commercial posts (buying, selling and/or trading) shall be made outside the Classified Ads Section.
2.8

2.11
You may combine an image and text for your signature. Note that for such a combo, you are allowed a maximum of 2 lines (including blank lines) of text in 8pt font size or 1 line of text in 10pt font size for text placed directly underneath or above the image you are combining it with.

Number of posts. There is no official number of posts that a person can leave in a day. However, excessive posting, especially those of the conversational kind (nothing but 'hello,' 'I agree,' 'uh-huh,' 'lol,' nothing but smilies and the like), is strongly discouraged. If a poster leaves numerous posts, particularly of the kind mentioned, too often he/she will be warned, then if it continues to be a problem they will be subject to disciplinary action. Moderators have the right to delete such posts without prior warning to the poster.
2.15

2.16
Moderators and administrators monitor your compliance with these rules and dispense disciplinary action at their discretion. Disciplinary decisions may be appealed through Private Messaging. No unauthorized public posting of appeals.
3. General Rules of Conduct
3.1
Always treat fellow posters with respect and courtesy. Always.
3.2
When you post, please have something to say. A message such as, "anyone in here?" takes up countless minutes when the number of viewers who read the post is taken into consideration. Please make intelligent posts which have a purpose.
3.3
Atimonan Online is a general readership site. As such, no language, avatar pictures or external website links inappropriate for or offensive to the general public should be posted. If you are uncertain as to whether a certain word, image, or link is allowed, contact a moderator or administrator beforehand.
3.4
No discussion of how to illegally acquire copyrighted material or links to websites promoting subversion of copyright.
3.5
No misquotations or misrepresentations of other members. This is considered libel.
3.6
Post in a language and style everybody can understand. "Text-speak" or SMS-based jargon is not allowed, as well as so-called "leet speak." No irritating posting styles, including use of all caps and excessive punctuation.
3.7
To better organize any conversations on any forums, rules are created as guidance and should be followed and fully respected by all officers and members. Organizations of topics or discussions are vital to the cleanliness of any forums including our very own Atimonan On Line. Discussions must be on-topic only whenever possible. If there is no board where you think a subject should be posted or belongs to, and you are not sure where to post it, contact a moderator or administrator and ask for assistance. Off-topic posts will be allowed up to three per board / per conversations only, this is to allow members enough time for their off-topics to move and continue their conversations to other place(s) where the discussion is appropriate. The fourth (4th) Off-topic post will be subject to a minor degree offense, exceptions can be applied depending on the situation.
What is OT or Off Topic? Off-topic simply means OUT OF TOPIC in which the TOPIC is based on the thread's title or name, and NOT based on your response to the member's prior post(s). Off Topics are any conversations or topics being discussed in the board or thread that is/are not within the context of the board's or to the thread's title, or any inappropriate discussions not related to the thread title. Side comments are not considered as Off Topic (exceptions apply). Example: Comments posted as a reaction to the picture posted by other members is considered as side comment. It is the Moderators and admin’s discretion whether a side comment is leading to Off topic, members will receive a kind and appropriate advice from the Mods and Admin if necessary.
3.71 Off topics. Disciplinary measures will be implemented to the degree of Off topics. These rulings will keep our
board friendly and clean for all members to enjoy.
3.72 Minor degree Offense: Off topics with a minor degree shall be issued an advice from the Moderators or Administrators with more diligent, friendly and well organized message thru Private Messaging. If more than one member already created off topic conversations and in multiple posts, an advise will be posted to the place of the offense, Private Message's may not be necessary and the off topics posts shall be move to the appropriate thread with appropriate re-direction link or simply delete the posts with no warnings depending on the weight of the offense.
3.73 The site administrators / moderators will issue warnings and give a chance to the minor offender to defend his/her action/s. The site administrator reserved the rights to implement disciplinary measures for any reason/s an offender committed. Multiple and refusal to the advise given, will be considered as first degree or a major offense.
3.74 First degree or major offense: When the posted message gives nothing, non-related, Off topic discussions, intended insults, excessive rumors, posting unreasonable and/or excessive number of pictures/images except for photo and other related threads (slows down the connection), repeated and refusal of advises given by a moderator/admin, failure to defend his offended actions, using of languages that can not be translated to the language that everybody understand.
3.75 First Degree or Major offense. Site Administrator may suspend member’s login privilege for some time and in the worst case scenario a cancellation of membership and may block the IP address with or without proper warning.
3.76 Multiple suspensions (3 or more) calls for an automatic member account cancellation.
3.8
To report a rule violation in a board post, please inform a moderator immediately.
3.9
No posting of flames or material intended to start a flame war.
4. Disciplinary Action
Violation of the rules of conduct and terms of service may result in disciplinary action issued by a moderator assigned to the message board on which the violation took place. Any moderator can take action on a board with no listed moderators or in an urgent case when no assigned moderator is online. Violations are evaluated on a case-by-case basis depending on the severity of the offense and past history of violations. The following types of disciplinary action are those most often applied:
4.1
Deletion of offending material: If the offense took place on a public message board, the material that violated the rules may be edited or deleted.
4.2
Informal warning: If the moderator determines that the offense is not severe enough to warrant a formal warning, an informal warning may be issued. An informal warning is a private correspondence between the moderator and the violator advising the violator of the offense and what he or she can do to correct it.
4.3
Formal warning: If the offense is severe enough or an informal warning has already been issued, the moderator may issue a formal warning. The formal warning becomes a permanent part of the poster's record and all moderators and administrators are informed are soon as it is issued. Several warnings can result in a permanent ban.
4.4
Block: A block is the temporary deactivation of a violator's posting privileges for one or more of the message boards. A moderator may apply a block to freeze a deteriorating situation and make time to work out issues with the violating user.
4.5
Ban: A ban is the permanent deactivation of the violator's account with Atimonan Online. A moderator applies a ban in response to very severe offenses and/or consistent display of unwillingness to follow website rules.
4.6
In the event you have violated a part or some parts of the website Rules and Regulations, the moderators or administrator may opt to "smite" you. This means you will be given a permanent negative rating in your Karma (see the website F.A.Q. for a more detailed description of how Karma works). A smite is not automatic but will depend on the gravity of your violation.
